The Doctoral School of Economics was established in 2005. It is an academic structure that organizes and coordinates the activities of four doctoral programs in economics and related fields in "La Sapienza".

About the School

The School's main goals

• the creation of an integrated system of postgraduate teaching;
• the formation of highly skilled researchers in a multidisciplinary perspective;
• to provide a better visibility to postgraduate teaching;
• to facilitate the students' mobility overseas;
• to establish forms of collaboration with national and international institutions.

The four PhD programs of the School

The School organizes and coordinates the activities of four PhD programs of "La Sapienza":

• Economia e Finanza Internazionale
• Economia Politica (Economics)
• Matematica per le applicazioni economico-finanziarie (Mathematics for economic-financial applications)
• Statistica Economica (Economic statistics)

Board of directors

It is the managing body of the School. Its members are the current directors of studies of the four PhD programs:

• Prof. Maurizio Franzini (Director of Studies of Dottorato in Economia Politica) - Director of the School
• Prof. Maria Chiarolla (Director of Studies of Dottorato in Matematica per le applicazioni economico-finanziarie)
• Prof. Rita D'Ecclesia (Director of Studies of Dottorato in Economia Finanziaria internazionale) - Secretary of the School
• Prof. Guido Pellegrini (Director of Studies of Dottorato in Statistica Economica)
